LMMLC Chair Honoured

Congratulations to LMMLC Chair, Beth McLucas, who won the Art Daoust Award as Box Lacrosse Executive of the Year.  The award was handed out at the 2011 BCLA Volunteer Awards Banquet in Whistler, October 15.

CLA Nets Clarification for 2013

As per CLA Technical Bulletin 09-03, effective January 1, 2013 (date extension issued by CLA December 2, 2011) all box lacrosse nets will need to be purchased from Canadian Lacrosse Association (CLA) approved manufacturers who have met the net specification standards as approved by CLA Board of Directors.

At the BCLA Annual General Meeting, it was further confirmed that these nets no longer will be tethered to the floor surface, either by goalpost extensions, pegs or other insertions into the floor.  For more information on CLA Technical Bulletin 09-03 including diagrams, click here.

CLA Helmet and Facemask Reminder for 2012

As per CLA Technical Bulletin 11-06, effective January 1, 2012 for players aged 16 and under, all helmets must be CSA-approved for ice hockey, facemasks CSA-approved for lacrosse or CSA-approved for hockey with exceptions, or helmet and facemask unit approved by NOCSAE for lacrosse.  Players aged 17 years and over are not required to use a CSA approved facemask for lacrosse until January 1, 2013.  Until then, helmet and facemask configurations that were legal as per CLA policy and used in the 2011 season may continue to be used in the 2012 season.

New  Delta Lacrosse Academy

The Delta School District will be opening a Lacrosse Academy at Delta Secondary in Ladner starting September 2012. This academy is open to males and females in Grades 9-12, both living inside and outside of Delta.
